The project will boost Scotland’s economy by improving the connection between its main cities Edinburgh and Glasgow. It will represent up to 18 minutes time savings.
It is the product of the public-private partnership to complete the motorway network of Central Scotland between the two main cities of the country, Glasgow and Edinburgh.

This paves the way for road users to enjoy the full benefits of the scheme, which include peak journey-time savings of 20 minutes on the M8 and 15 minutes at Raith Interchange. Other key benefits include more reliable journey times, enhanced safety and reduced emissions.
